Project Steps

Intro

We recently remodeled our laundry room. Walls were pulled down. A shower was removed. Shelves were built and a new floor was installed. I love the light and happy and bright of the after.

Except.

Except there was dust everywhere. Dust in the corners and the molding and the shelves and a layer of dust on the floor so thick that I lost hope of ever getting it clean again.

And then?

I found this.

The HomeRight Steamer.

My superhero.

I had the product shipped directly to my house and it arrived with eight different attachments. I chose the steamer because I wanted a chemical free way to clean my floor that would disinfect it and remove germs and all that dust at the same time.

Step 1

To clean the vinyl floors, I chose two attachments.

Before I used the steamer, I clicked on the safety button on the handle to allow the steam to be released. Then, I used this brush to scrub the dirt off the floor. The high pressurized steam blasted away the dirt and the unit was so lightweight and on wheels, making it easy to move around the laundry room.

I couldn’t believe how the dirt just lifted off with simply the power of the steam.

Step 2

Next, I used the cleaning pad to dry any remaining water off the floor.

The pad attached easily and snapped into place with the tabs on the back of the attachment. It only took one pass to dry the floor to a soft shine.

Step 3

Here’s the floor after it was cleaned.

Doesn’t it look amazing?

Not a speck of dirt or remodeling grit and grime left behind.

Here’s some of my favorite things about the steamer:

1. The steamer ran for about 30 minutes continuously.

2. The wheels made it lightweight and easy to use.

3. The different attachments are so versatile, allowing me to clean floors, kitchen counter tops, grills and bathroom fixtures.

4. I liked the feel of the floor once it was cleaned. There wasn’t any residue or streaks left behind.

5. I liked that I didn’t have to use chemicals, just a little elbow grease and the power of steam.

Step 4

Here’s one last look at the floor. You can see the sunlight bouncing off the corners of the room with not a speck of dirt in sight. It’s clean and streak-free and ready to use. Now, if only doing laundry were this easy.
