Project Steps
Painting a room can be time consuming, messy, back breaking, and frustrating. If you're like us, you need all the help you can get to make this process more manageable.
We've found the perfect tools to get the job done quickly, easily, and mess free:
Follow along and see how we used these amazing tools to paint a wall in our workshop!
Tape Off the Trim with the Quick Mask
Start by taping off your trim with the Quick Mask. This will prevent unwanted drips of paint getting on your trim and will make clean-up much easier later!
Unroll the Quick Mask and press the sticky tape side down on your trim to create a tight seal. Try to place the tape as close to the wall as possible so that paint won't leak through when you're painting.
Next, unroll the Quick Mask to protect the area in front of the wall you're painting. We used a drop cloth AND the Quick Mask to be extra careful!
Paint Around Your Trim and Paint the Corners
Cutting in is tedious to do with a brush, but super easy to do with the QuickPainter! Simply remove the pad, press the trigger, and draw back on the handle to draw paint directly into the QuickPainter.
Replace the pad, put a paper towl over the pad, and lightly squeeze the trigger to remove any excess air bubbles. These can cause unwanted squirts of paint later so you don't want to skip this step!
With your QuickPainter ready to go, you can start painting around the trim. Lightly press the trigger and paint will saturate the pad from the inside to easily paint your wall and lay down a nice, smooth finish.
For the corners of the room, we took off the QuickPainter pad and added the Corner Pad Attachment! In no time at all, we had all of the trim and corners painted.
Paint the Wall with the EZ-Twist
Now we were ready to paint the wall! We assembled our PaintStick EZ-Twist and attached the fill tube to the side of our paint can. Then we attached the fill port on the EZ-Twist to the fill tube to be able to draw paint into the handle.
Tip: Make sure you create a tight seal when drawing paint into the EZ-Twist! If the PaintStick is held at the wrong angle or enough downward pressure isn't applied, paint might not be drawn into the handle.
When the PaintStick EZ-Twist was loaded with paint (it can hold up to 18 ounces!), we started to paint the wall. It will take almost a whole tube of paint to saturate the roller, but once the roller is saturated you'll have the whole wall painted at lightning speed! Simply twist and push the handle to feed more paint to the roller cover.
One of the best features of the PaintStick EZ-Twist is that it has up to 64 inches of reach! We had no trouble painting the tall wall in our workshop. This long reach is also great for when you're painting a ceiling.
Thanks to the Quick Mask, QuickPainter, and PaintStick EZ-Twist, we had the whole wall painted quickly, easily, and mess-free! It served as the perfect back drop for this gorgeous armoire that we painted. We're loving this new, warm color!
