- Plastic Bins
Happy March, my friends! It's Ruthie from Refashionably Late and I wanted to share with you a quick cleaning tutorial. The flu season is still going strong over here in Minnesota. A couple months ago my older daughter got Influenza A and was knocked on her feet for about 2 days. I had never seen her so lethargic or sick. I felt so bad for her. I don't want that to happen again this winter so I thought it would be a good idea to deep clean some of my girls' toys. My younger daughter is almost 16 months old so everything still goes in her mouth. I hate to use cleaners with the toys as I don't want her to get that gunk in her mouth! What better way than to steam clean their toys?!
I grabbed my SteamMachine and got to work. I started with the legos as they are a current favorite in our house right now. I gathered up all of the legos and unconnected as many as possible. I then threw them into a plastic bucket and set them in the shower!
To start, add water to the SteamMachine and wait for it to warm up. Once the orange light has turned off it is ready to use.
Spray all over your plastic bins. Spray at the top and towards the bottom and then through all the holes in the bin. Make sure to get as thorough of a clean as you can.
After you have sprayed every little nook and cranny then all that's left to do is wait for the toys to dry.
A bonus is that you can clean your shower while you are at it as well! It's so quick and easy and a great way to clean a lot of toys at once! I honestly spent more time photographing the project than cleaning the legos! It's that quick! The SteamMachine is a great way to not clean with harmful chemicals. I'm hoping to keep the flu out of my home and little things like this make a big difference. Thanks so much for stopping by today to see how I clean my daughters' toys naturally and safely! You have also seen a sneak peek of my newly redone guest bathroom! Head on over to Refashionably Late and stay tuned for the final reveal this week!
