Project Steps

When you own a store with a Makery, and do a lot of painting projects, there is bound to be some mess. I manage to spill paint in large quantities on the floor all of the time, and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t have some paint on me somewhere!

Luckily for me, the HomeRight SteamMachine Elite steamer is the perfect tool to easily, and quickly remove acrylic craft paint from our vinyl plank flooring. I love the SteamMachine Elite, because it can do so  much more than clean floors, and comes with a ton of attachments.

It comes with 19 awesome accessories including a microfiber cleaning towel, 2 extension wands, measuring cup, funnel, straight adaptor, squeegee and fabric steamer, jet nozzle, small brass brush, large brass brush, small nylon brush, large nylon brush, fabric bonnet for the fabric steamer, triangular mop head, triangular carpet glide, triangular microfiber pad, storage bag, and storage bag hooks!

Step 1

Always read proper operating and safety instructions for the HomeRight Steam Machine Elite. Make sure to read the instructions and see that the flooring is compatible with the cleaner, and will not be damaged by the steam.

Step 2

Vacuum or sweep any lose dirt or grime before steam cleaning.

Step 3

Let the steam cleaner come to temperature. Release some steam onto the floor to lightly dampen the microfiber mop head. Use light downward pressure while releasing steam to clean the floor, using a steady back and forth motion.

Step 4

For stubborn acrylic craft paint splotches, let the warm mop head sit on any paint for a few seconds, and use a scrubbing motion to remove paint while releasing steam.

Step 5

Use the mop head to also remove any excess moisture from the floor, and let dry.
