Intro

Do you go camping? I bought a new camper this past summer and was so happy to have my ElectroLight Charcoal Starter on board at the campground. In all honesty, it really is glamping and not camping! I usually book a site with electricity and water, so the ElectroLight being corded is not an issue at all! I plug the camper into the 30 amp service which leaves a 15-20 amp for and extension cord OR my ElectroLight Charcoal Starter.

Step 1

This small grill is perfect for my friends and I. I don’t have room for a large grill, and gas is just not an option for me right now. I prefer using regular charcoal, not the pre-lit kind. I am not a fan of charcoal lighter fluid. No fluid needed with this handy electric fire starter. The built in blower is the real secret! Keeping the air moving makes the charcoal light (and stay lit) so quickly.

Step 2

The ElectroLight allows you to easily light your charcoal barbecue, wood burning fireplace, campfire or fire pit in 2-3 minutes. It uses 1300 degree temperature hot air to ignite your wood or charcoal. That's two times the temperature required to ignite wood.

The built-in blower then fans the flames to the desired level of fire needed, saving more time for doing what you love. The durable heating element, motor, and switch will last you for thousands of lights.

Step 3

Gas grills are okay, but food tastes so much better over charcoal, including roasted marshmallows! After dinner we decided to have some s’mores. It was too wet and rainy to do a bonfire, so roasting marshmallows over the coals was the next best thing!

I’ve used my ElectroLight off and on for the last couple of years, but now it’s going to definitely be a regular on my camping trips. It will be so fast to start the grill AND bonfires when I get to have them. So far, that’s what I’ve missed out on. I haven’t had a chilly night outside by a fire. But there’s always spring, right?

If you don’t like using charcoal lighter fluid, the ElectroLight fire starter is a great alternative. It's not just for camping. I don’t have a working fireplace, but if I did I would use the ElectroLight there as well!

Do you have pets? I'm sharing some Camping with Dogs tips over on My Repurposed Life. Camping sure has changed over the years, hasn't it?
