Project Steps

Intro

Painting a wall, a room or a whole house can be fast and easy with the right tools!  I am sharing what tools I used to makeover my master bathroom and repaint the walls from tan to a beautiful light white.  It updates the entire space and looks so lovely.

Step 1

Prepare the Room

You will want to begin your painting project with a little prep.  First, clean your walls and baseboards, patch any holes and let that dry, remove electrical outlet covers and light switch covers and move everything possible out of the room.

Place a tarp on your floors or any other surface you would like to protect.

If you are new to painting, or you are not confident, you can also use painters tape to tape off any edges.

Step 2

Cut in Around Trim with the QuickPainter

Then you will cut into the corners, edges and around your baseboards using a HomeRight QuickPainter.  The QuickPainter makes edging easy and quick and you can get straight lines because it has a little guide on it.

Step 3

Press the Trigger to Paint

You will actually suck the paint into the QuickPainter's handle and then press the lever down while you paint.  It is so easy to use!

Step 4

Grab Your PaintStick EZ-Twist

Then you will paint the majority of your walls with the HomeRight EZ-Twist PaintStick.  I love this painting tool because the handle stores paint so as you roll the wall, and twist the handle up, the paint comes out of the roller and goes directly onto the walls.

Step 5

Paint Your Walls with the Roller

No drips and no mess!  And I don't have to climb up and down the ladder to get more paint every few minutes. The EZ-Twist PaintStick is so awesome.

Step 6

A Few More Painting Tips:

  • Keep a wet rag handy in case you do get a little drip
  • If you have two people, one to edge and one to roll, your job will go really fast
  • You can edge or roll first, it really doesn't matter
  • Be sure to apply two coats of paint
