Project Steps

Intro

Deep cleaning your mattress is a great way to keep your mattress in tip-top shape!  Using a Steam Machine to clean your mattress is a great way to get rid of germs and dust mites that like to collect in your mattress and refresh your mattress in no time.

Step 1

Remove any mattress topper and sheets from the bed and prepare your SteamMachine.  You will want to place the fabric steamer attachment with the fabric cover onto your SteamMachine, fill it with distilled water and let it heat up.  While the SteamMachine is heating up, vacuum the mattress.

*As a note, this mattress is on the floor because it is my son's mattress and he sleeps up in a loft bed.  It was easier for me to remove his mattress from his loft bed to clean it then it was to clean it while up in his loft bed.  You can read all about his industrial loft bed HERE.

Step 2

Once the SteamMachine is heated up, you will simply run the steamer attachment across the mattress.  Go slow and make sure you get all the corners and seams really well. Allow your mattress to dry completely before you place sheets back on the mattress.

Step 3

And I am really excited about the SteamMachine Accessory Bag because it is perfect for storing all of my SteamMachine accessories in when they aren't in use!  I can't wait to find the perfect place to hang this in my home so that the accessories are easy to find when I need them! Come read more about this project on the Simply Designing website.
