Project Steps

My sister had this dated oak dresser that didn't match anything she owned. It had good bones and she wanted to use it in her bedroom that is filled with dark furniture, whites, and greys. I knew it would be a breeze to give it a makeover using the Super Finish Max (or you could use the classic version)! I love projects that can be done in a day!

Step 1

Remove Hardware

Start by taking off all the old hardware. Any hardware you will be reusing, put in baggies so it won't get lost. I reused the hinges, but that was all.

Step 2

Sand the Surface and Clean

Once all the hardware has been removed, lightly sand the entire thing. Paint will adhere better if it has something to grip rather than a super smooth surface. Using a damp rag, wipe down the dresser to remove all the dust.

Step 3

Prepare the Sprayer and Paint

After you have cleaned off the dust and the surface has dried, it is time to paint! Fill the Super Finish Max with your choice of paint. Thin if needed. Choose the tip that best fits the type of paint you are using. I used the green tip and then started painting!

Step 4

Allow to Dry Then Enjoy!

Give the dresser enough time to fully dry and then you can add the new hardware. Paint makes such a difference! One day, a little paint, and you have a whole new piece of furniture! I can't wait to see how it will look in my sister's bedroom.
