Project Steps

Intro

Having a wooden table outdoors means that it's exposed to a lot of wear and tear. After enduring through thunderstorms, heavy snow, intense heat, or every day use, your outdoor table deserves a healthy, new look. Katy with A Shade of Teal decided to give her table a fresh stain with this beautiful Outdoor Rustic Farmhouse Table makeover.

Step 1

Start by gathering your supplies. Using a Finish Max paint sprayer will allow you to spray your table in no time at all! Plus, the sprayer can paint those hard to reach places that would be a pain to paint by hand. Katy says that this product is her new best friend after finishing this project. Also, pick out a stain and sealer that suits your needs and prefrences. Katy chose a beautiful Dark Walnut color for her stain and a Polycrylic sealer.

Step 2

Sand down your table as needed and then clean and dust the entire table. Next, prep your paint sprayer and add the stain to the paint cannister.

Step 3

Now it's time for the fun part...spraying with your paint sprayer! Start by spraying the top of your table first and work your way down to the legs and base. Use a rag when needed to gently wipe the wood and blend in the stain. Katy said that it only took her 10 minutes to spray the entire table!

Step 4

Allow the stain to dry overnight and then it will be ready for the Polycrylic sealer. Katy sprayed 2 coats of poly and each coat only took 10 minutes! She allowed a 2 hour break in between each coat for it to dry.

Step 5

Once your table is dry, step back and marvel at your work! It's amazing what a simple staining job can do to a table. Now it can proudly withstand all of those outdoor elements easily. For more information on how Katy did this project, head on over to her blog.
