- Super Finish Max
- Large Spray Shelter
- Rag or Towel
- Unfinished Wood Utility Cover
It's that time of year to get outside and start making home improvements. I have plenty to keep me busy all year long, but one outdoor update that I've been wanting to get done is building a new wood utility cover.
We inherited a cover when we bought our home, but as you can see below it's seen better days. So, to hide some of our ugly pool equipment (most of which is not even needed anymore), I built and stained a new one.
First, find a space where you can setup the Large Spray Shelter.
Next, prep your Super Finish Max HVLP Paint Sprayer by making sure the blue spray tip is attached. Then stir your stain really well and add it to the sprayer.
Now that you're ready to stain start with the bottom. I gave the bottom edge a quick spray and let it dry for a couple minutes. After that I stood the wood cover up and finished spraying the rest. To make sure you get in the cracks you'll want to angle the sprayer up/down.
After you spray you can wipe away any excess stain. The color I used gets pretty dark, so I only needed 1 light coat.
Next, allow the stain to completely dry, or about 24 hours. Then finish it off with sealing the wood cover. Just repeat the same steps using your Super Finish Max HVLP Paint Sprayer.
