Intro

Happy Monday everyone!  My name is Ruthie Tabone and I blog over at Refashionably Late.  I'm so happy to be back to share this quick little DIY with you this month!  I have had a round tray I bought on clearance at Target for a couple years.  It has been sitting in our storage room for some time as I was waiting for the perfect idea for a makeover.  We have also been slowly redoing our family room and I needed a new tray for the ottoman.  So I got the tray out of storage and decided it was time for a new look!

Step 1

Since it's freezing cold here in Minnesota I thought I would do this project in our home gym/extra bedroom.  This room is a work in progress and becomes storage quite often.  I started by setting up the Small Spray Shelter on the floor.  I then placed the Turn Table into the spray shelter so that it would lift the tray up off the ground and make it easy to turn around and get all the areas of the tray.

Step 2

Next, you want to place your tray on top of the turn table.  Center it so that it will be easy to turn around.

Step 3

I started by spraying around the outside of the tray.  I then worked my way into the edge of the tray around the inside.

Step 4

I finished spraying the try and turned it around a few times to make sure I didn't miss any spots.

Step 5

After it dried it was a beautiful matte black and was then ready to have the design applied.

Step 6

I decided to apply some Adhesive Foil onto the tray.  I cut out the design on my Cricut Explore Air 2.  I cut it into two sections as the tray was about 15 inches across.  This would make it easier to apply than one big circle.

Step 7

After I applied the adhesive foil it was finished and ready to be used!  If you would like a more detailed tutorial on using adhesive foil please head on over to my blog.

Step 8

Thanks so much for hanging out with me today and I look forward to sharing more with you next month!  If you like what you see please head on over to my blog, Refashionably Late, for more DIY and Home Decor projects!
