How to Remove Wrinkles from Curtains without an Iron

This secret trick saves so much time.

Project Steps

I hate ironing curtains. Especially new straight from the package. Somehow the wrinkles and creases seem to be set into the fabric in a way that only extensive ironing will get out. And let's be honest, ironing curtains (especially long ones) is no easy task! I have been known to put new curtains up, straight from the package, to see how they look. And upon deciding I like them, leave them up in hopes that the wrinkles will eventually come out. They never do. So at some point I painstakingly take them down, spend an hour or so ironing them, and pray they never get another wrinkle in them every again! I would be lying if I didn't say this recently happened to me when I bought new curtains for my kitchen. And I really thought they were good to go forever until I decided to repaint my kitchen and needed to take my curtains down the other day. And there they sat, hung over a chair in my kitchen, for several weeks as we finished a kitchen remodeling project. When I went to put them back up, I realized that they really did need a quick refresh. While I didn't have any major creases in them, they didn't look that great from the last two weeks. And ironing is potentially one of my least favorite things to do...ever! So I decided to refresh and de-wrinkle my curtains a different way this time! This saved me so much time! And worked perfectly! So today I am excited to share with you how to remove wrinkles from curtains without an iron!

How to Remove Wrinkles from Curtains without an Iron
The trick to nearly any hack is having the right tool. And to make removing wrinkles from your curtains without an iron easy, you definitely need the right tool. Fortunitely, the tool you need is super useful and amazing! I have used this tool for cleaning my oven and my glass door, to steam clean mirrors and windows, to quickly sanitize bathrooms, to clean and sanitize toilets, to clean mold from a shower and so many other things! This tool is amazing! What is it you ask? The HomeRight SteamMachine. It is awesome! And one of my favorite tools ever and I use it all the time.

And you can also use it to de-wrinkle your curtains! This process will only take a few minutes and you don't need to take your curtains down so it is so much faster then ironing them!

STEP 1:

To use the SteamMachine to remove wrinkles from your curtains, you will begin by filling the resevoir of the SteamMachine up with water and allowing it to heat up completely. It doesn't take very long, don't worry!

STEP 2:

There are several attachments for the SteamMachine but for curtains I prefer to use the Squeege and Fabric Steamer attachment. Attach that to the end of the SteamMachine and begin steaming your curtains!

STEP 3:

The wrinkles will come out easily and quickly!

STEP 4:

You might be so inspired you'll go around your house and steam out all your curtains!

STEP 5:

It is such a great way to take out wrinkles and freshen your curtains too! And if you have little ones who like to touch your curtains, it will sanitize them as well without any harsh chemicals.
